PAPER WHIMSY JOURNAL

I joined in a swap recently at Paper Whimsy which required making a small journal, 5"x7", and decorating the front with at least two images from Paper Whimsy, and one of their bits from their shop. Well, that was the easy part because every single thing they sell is beautiful. I had never put together any type of book at all, so it was a challenge, but a good one, and the guidelines referenced instructions in the most recent "Cloth, Paper, Scissors magazine.
Their binding technique was very simple and worked well, and I used gaffer tape on the seam from Paper Whimsy, which I can now say is a fantastic product!! The covers I cut from some beautiful files I had won on a giveaway a while ago. I added the P.W. girl, and created her skirt from an actual vintage dress I have had for years. Added some bling, fabric, and a nice little glass bobble of LOVE! Now I might have to make myself one!! Thank you for looking!

STILL FLYING

To fly as fast as thought, to anywhere that is, you must begin by knowing that you have already arrived.

LUCKY PEARL

Some weekend fun to get me in the summer/beach/warm weather kind of mood! This is my take on the beach theme. A 4x6 postcard to be swapped out with another creative approach.
I had a good time creating this, thinking out of the box a bit, and letting my imagination roam!
Anything can exist in your mind, right?
Happy weekend!

RENEWAL

So, I have been working hard on jewelry, and in doing so am discovering that a subject that was once so uncomfortable for me to create around, is now becoming familiar and an outlet for transforming thoughts into something that actually feels good. And I can honestly say that I never dreamed that could have happened in a million years. This necklace is all about that renewed thinking , to try to get my inner spirit and my physical being to come together, to be comfortable. I always feel a need to translate the emotion and significance that something means to me into a wearable form. I feel that by doing this that a real part of me is in that piece of jewelry, I feel it will be carried by the person who buys it or wears it. I am certain. Call it what you want, religion, belief, faith. I believe it is making me free.

ALICE

Some Alice in Wonderland atc's for a swap. The backgrounds are fabric that I was so lucky to win from Lorraine at Creative Daily during OWOH. Her fabrics are incredible. Just some rubber stamping and collage here. I really had to resist the temptation to keep adding, but I just loved the clarity and crispness, and wanted to be able to appreciate that fabric!

Hope today and every day is an adventure!

FRESH SQUEEZED

available on etsy here

I was twice blessed this month to have two pieces in the April issue of Bead Trends. This one is called Fresh Squeezed. The lampwork beads were made by Sue, of Sue Beads! One look at them and I see oranges, melons, mouth watering summer super drenched color. I love that they have a matte finish to them and the color is so dense and rich. The unusual 80 degree temps have ended here, but my mindset still says spring and summer, and that's where it is going to stay!

And how appropriate that I am swapping some inchies with a theme of the sea and the shore!

I'm just warming up!

LUCKY LADY

This is an atc made for a lottery draw on Paper Whimsy, with the theme of clovers. We had to include at least one clover in the atc for March. I call her "Lucky Lady'."

I have been a lucky lady myself for once again being published in the April issue of Bead Trends magazine. These earrings are featured and are called "Twice as Nice". Made of hand forged sterling and crystal quartz. Very simple. They show off my grandma's creamer!
They are available here on etsy.

Thanks for visiting and all of your wonderful and supportive comments. I couldn't do this without you!
