I thought I would share some of my flowers with you while I had the opportunity, two days in a row of sunshine without rain! We are sun starved here, and I hope it is the beginning of a trend! My poppies are starting to bloom, the dahlias, the magnificent lupines, and finally a clematis bloom! I love color in the garden, and hoping it will inspire me a bit in the jewelry department....ummm, we'll see! Still love my neutrals!
Hope the sun is shining on you wherever you are! Thanks for looking and I welcome and appreciate your visits and comments!
Yup, that's right.....downright gorgeous! Barbara Lewis, of Painting with Fire, is having a fantastic and very generous giveaway over on her blog, go here to check it out, and you could win these, or color of your choice! What's not to like?! You'll also get the inside scoop on Barbara's book, due to be released at the end of the summer, which we are all waiting so patiently for .
Don't you just love this skull's smiling face?!! My daughter Briana made this, and I just listed it on etsy for her. Bri lost her job about 6 weeks ago, and she is trying to find a creative outlet. I think she did a great job, and she describes this as "for the girly girl with an edge!" Just had to share the cuteness!
Thanks for taking the time to look...I appreciate all your kindness always.
After a crappy week of health stuff, and devoting a lot of time to making jewelry for a presentation today, I finally have some me time! I just started a new journal class with artist Kelly Kilmer, and I just love her style! She uses very few materials, and uses lots of leftover papers and things we already have. I am loving it, even though this is not a style I am used to, but the fact that I can do it rather quickly(tonight I spent an hour, that is quick for me), and I am trying to break out of my "same old" style. I like my style, but I also like to try new things, and this feels rather liberating. I am soon to start a class with the wonderful Roben-Marie also. Have to finish watching the videos .
The bracelet here I created as a part of jewelry that makes me feel good, you know, so maybe someone else will feel good. I can always keep it! Thanks for visiting and I love hearing from all of you! Have a fantastic week!
Can you tell I had fun?! My heart palpitates when I go to this vendor, my only vendor, and I have many more things in my head trying to remember for the next trip! Thanks so much for looking with me, and I thank you for all your comments and support. Have a great week!
I put together a little bit of this and a little bit of that, and I love how it turned out! Mixed media in jewelry has become my favorite, along with vintage items, so I will be off to the flea this weekend!
The sun is shining and even though I am getting ready to set off to work, just the fact that the sun is out is so inspiring to me! Hope all of you are inspired today too, and the sun is shining upon you!
This necklace was inspired by this beautiful and humbling quote that I see on my friend Karen's blog everyday. When something is so blatantly simple and meaningful, it's easy to carry it with me, and I had to create something around it to reflect that. I don't think with this there is much need for more words. Hope you all had a fantastic weekend, and you all have a beautiful week.
I have been making lots of jewelry, but haven't had a chance to photo any of it, so I thought I would share my latest journal page. I started out actually wanting to make some mixed media dolls, and by the time I was done I was so happy with this one I had to stick it in my book, and soon my book will not close at all! I made more dolls, and enjoyed it so much I have many more ideas brewing. This Catherine Moore stamp is one of the things I love, also. the toile fabric, my antique buttons, beautiful papers, doodads, trims, bling, and ...calm.
