ATC SWAP

I recently joined in a ATC swap where the theme was  vintage children with wings!  What A fun theme, and it's been such a long time since I made some ATC's, I really had a blast!

I used a mixture of vintage text, scrapbook paper, purchased collage sheets, and rub ons.

I sent these off to a lovely lady in South Africa, and am waiting to receive mine also...very exciting coming from so far away!

LIGHT

This week I tried something different

I tried watercolors for the first time EVER!

        And I tried to do what I would call "LIGHT" which is something I don't usually do, I am usually, heavy, dark, and marks all over, filling up all space.

The nice thing about trying new things is that you might find you like it!

BALANCING ACT

It seems that lately I feel like I am a person in this circle, going round and round, juggling many beautiful aspects of my life, but the key word there is juggling. I can't seem to find the time to get here to share with all my very supportive online friends that are dear to me and inspire me. I am trying to find the balance.

 These are two recent projects I have worked on, balancing colors, shapes, design elements and textures, like puzzles, and it feels good when it works out. You just know when it does, it just feels good.

AN ALTERED BOOK

This is the remainder of my altered book journey with my friend Lenna.http://creativelenna.blogspot.com/ These are the pages that I finished before I sent her book back to her. Lenna and I have worked in each other's books now for literally years, mostly because I work incredibly slow, that is, I have too many things on my plate, so I worked on it too infrequently, and Lenna was always ever patient and gracious. I thought I would share.

I think this is my favorite page, it has a gorgeous clip of a forest with light pouring through and I added some vintage text and tissue, I  love the texture and movement.

This was an amazing learning experience and journey and I am grateful to a wonderful friend and mentor, Lenna Young Andrews who has taught me so much of what I know as a collage artist! Thank you to all of you who visit and encourage my work in all mediums as well!

AMONG THE CLOUDS

This collage page is long overdue, at least in my mind! I have wanted to make a piece of art for so long, and I always land up having to make the choice of being too tired or making jewelry, the tug of war that I face daily. Art won this time I am happy to say! I am a bit happier for it too.
