And the most gorgeous illustrations in 2 books I bought, one is "The Art of the Pitti Palace, Florence", the other, "The Art of the Netherlands". To die for.
I am a sucker for old japanese santas....he made it home with me too! Hope your week is as good as my day was! Thanks for visiting and all your kindness you leave me with.

Sharon, I'd say you scored big time!!! Where did you go to find so many treasures?? I wanna go there too! :-) I loved the cabinet cards - each telling their own story. The one in the second set with the little girl on the left is especially sweet...I never pass up a bin of cabinet cards either, I'm always drawn in.
Your Santa is so sweet! We went to an antique mall in Richmond over the weekend and I enjoyed seeing all of the vintage Santas, elves and Snowmen!

the pretty rosaries caught my eye too...I got to visit Lourdes as a girl and we all got rosaries, but the little vials have dried up. My dad has a Virgin Mary bottle with a plastic blue crown with holy water from Lourdes in it...I still remember people carrying candles with paper lanterns around them singing Ave Maria ... gives me chills to this day
