DERYN'S INSPIRATION CHALLENGE

Last week the multitalented and sweet Deryn of Something Sublime proposed on her blog an inspiration challenge.....to create a piece of jewelry based on an incredibly gorgeous photo she posted. To see the photo, please visit Deryn's post here. This is what I came up with. This one was a personal challenge for me. I adore vintage but sometimes have trouble with it, earthy is easier for me, but when I saw the photo I knew what I was going to do, well, just about. I am not one to do multi layered strands either, but I pushed myself with this one, and I am so happy I did. Anyway, go take a looky, and see what you think. BTW, Deryn is offering a really sweet giveaway with this too, so if you are interested, you still have a day left....so chop chop!
In this necklace I used part of an incredible Victorian brass pin that I was hoarding and I deconstructed it, that beauty in the center with the rhinestones, vintage rosary chain, a gorgeous chandelier drop, heishi pearl, rhinestone rondelles, vintage rose flower beads, brass chain, and faceted garnet strands. The next step in my personal challenge would be to wear this, and I am getting closer!

Thanks for visiting and I always love your comments!

Looks like a precious necklance Cleopatra would wear. I like the square metal with the white beads and the stone dangling above it.
