I had some time this weekend to work on things that I have been meaning to try for a while. Believe it or not, I have never used a soldering iron in all the years I have been making jewelry, and had one unopened in a package for at least 2 years. So wala, here you have my first soldered pendant, with an image from paper whimsy, a piece of vintage millinery flower from my collection, and a piece of vintage text. Errr correction, this is my second pendant...I cracked the first one! It is rough, due to increasingly shaky hands, and a bit wonky, but oh how I love it...her!
This is a new journal page I made. I realize more and more that I have an odd love of all types of paper, and my approach to this type of art is very random and haphazard and I really enjoy that.

Your soldering hanger is fantastic Sharon and your journal page rock.
Love them both.
Soldering is a technique that requires practice - this is fabulous, especially considering it is your second try. And I am totally in love with your journal page...

I keep coming back to look at this page.
somehow it makes me feel better. as if everything was possible.
I can't quite explain it. it must be magic then. ;)
OMGoodness, I just posted about my first soldered necklace I made this week. I tried once before, but burnt the edges so badly from going over &over to make it even, that I had to tear it apart. The results are Fabulous, but the soldering is HARD!!! & can we talk about JUMP RINGS, arggghhhh. They make me CRAZY!
I ADORE your piece, it's gorgeous!
