A BEADY GIRL'S DREAM

As some of you know, I was recently selected to be part of Nunn Design's Innovative design team.....woohoo! I have made a few pieces already, but will have to wait a bit yet to share those with you. In the meantime, it has been a blast working with Nunn products, and I thought I would share some photos with you. I really didn't know what to expect when we were told we would receive goodies every month to work with, and when I got this box, along with bags of chains that didn't fit in the box, I was blown away! These components are really gorgeous, and the look and feel of the pieces are so nice....heavy, detailed, and very well constructed...this is good stuff! These components have romance written all over them. The chunky chains so far are my favorite, along with the gorgeous rhinestone chains(soooo cool!), and that awesome glass keepsake component you see here. I have plans for that one, but it's still a secret! You will just have to follow along with me on my journey with the Nunn Design team members! SPRING'S WISH

It's the time of year when I start looking at flowers and plants and thinking of my garden, flower and vegetable, and start to think of what I want to do different this year, new plants, new colors, etc. This necklace came about during that thought process and it represented to me the small pops of color that begin in the spring , the little bit of color against the brown dirt that reminds us that there will be warmth again, and abundant plants with the great smells that carry us through to next year again. It's still very cold, but we can still wish it to happen very soon.

EMERGE

I had some happy journal time and made this page. I feel like each time I do this collage type journaling of mine that I get a little bit closer to what my vision really is. I do most of these pieces in an attempt to get my inside to come outside. I like this one, I call it EMERGE.

Two unrelated subjects, but nevertheless, that's how my brain works! I will never tire of working with Carolyn Saxby's luscious fiber beads, they make me feel all warm inside!

Clarity was made from an old love of sterling and needing to feel pretty sometimes, as I think we all enjoy once in a while, and I felt they said Valentine's Day in a bit of a different style, but just enough to be special!

HOW TO BUILD A NEST

Use bits and pieces of fabric and papers that you love and make a journal page that makes you happy. That's what I did, and it made me happy, and I am hoping to make more. It gives me great satisfaction to use paper and fabrics together, especially vintage. This was all spurred on by that beautiful tag with the bird that the fab Julie Whitmore sent to me with a piece I ordered. I made a copy because the original I want to frame by itself. Nuts, I know, but so be it!Thanks for sharing in my nuttiness, and have a great rest of week!
