BLOOMING LOVE AND A MESS

Blooming Love

THE MESS

Blooming Love was created for Helga's challenge at My ARTistic Life. The theme was pink and green. Again, I tried some things I never tried before...made a background of tissue paper, acrylics, image of the woman from Artchix, scrap paper and magazine clippings, stamping, some flowers and fabrics.

The mess is posted by request of Kate over at The Kathryn Wheel, who BTW, has some really fabulous artwork herself! She posted a photo of her workspace, and thought it was messy...I really didn't think it was as bad as mine. As you can see, the jewelry workspace is about a 4"x10" space now, and because there isn't any room on the table for mixed media, I have to go onto the kitchen table to do that! Don't get me wrong though, because I really love my small house! If it were bigger, there would be MORE stuff all over a bigger area. AND, I DO NOT LIKE TO CLEAN, so I don't want any more space to take care of! I manage. Yes, I could use a room of my own, but I don't have it, and if that's all I don't have in life, then I can deal with that.
The more I have, the more I want.....I want, I want, I want....and I DON"T want to be like that!!

Sharon, you're at it again! What a gorgeous new mixed media piece...with the vibrant colors and textures. Your "mess" looks exactly like mine!!! Birds of a feather flock together...

Love the new piece, Sharon!! Wonderful background and I adore the way you have combined the colours. Maybe I'll show you some of my "mess" one day. I guess I can only create out of chaos...

Sharon, your blooming love in green and rose is so fresh, so spring like, i really love it. Beautiful.

And what about your mess ? Nothing to say, mine is exactly the same, may be to add the floor...
I love to see workspaces, they are life, creation, interrogations, doubts. You are an artist, that's all !

Sharon . . .
Your blooming love is so layered and utterly gorgeous! The tissue paper background is so textured and divine; one of my favorites. The colours are awesome, especially the contrast of the light green leaves. I have not started my pink& green challenge piece yet, but will soon. Thank you for the inspiration! If you did not say so, I would definitely NOT know you are a 'newb' at this as you say!! xo lenna

Ooh Sharon! I love this one. Pink and green is one of my favorite combos. A couple of years ago I had a custom ring made for myself with an emerald cut Peridot and 2 trillion cut pink Tourmalines on each side of it. Great colors together!

BTW - I bought a package of pre-cut ATC cards and envelopes. I hope to get some made soon so maybe we could trade.

"Blooming Love" is beautiful. Great colors!

I smiled a big one when I saw your work space because it resembles mine so much, with just painting and mixed media supplies on a small table in the hallway. All my jewelry supplies are spread out in closets, a small chest of drawers and garage. And let's not even think about the ceramic supplies, and silk painting supplies.... I'm trying to figure how to arrange at least part of it all in close proximity in a room, but I just can't seem to figure it out.

Oh but you have to make a mess. That's the whole fun of it. Blooming Love is romantically beautiful. The colors look so good together.

Sharon, I love how your woman is emerging from the garden of flowers. This is a beautiful piece. And personally, I think what you have in your workspace is more like controlled chaos. Looks pretty organized to me. And you are absolutely right, more space and you just expand into. You should see my dining room.

Thank you for showing us your work space. I to have a small house, my stuff has taken over the only spare bedroom. Thank goodness my husband doesn't mind. I know what you mean about wanting more and more but not wanting to be that way. Very thought provoking.
