Remember this from a few days ago, a cover for my journal this year? Well, as my mind would have it there has been a change of plans. I don't fight the inner turmoil anymore, I just go with it! Don't get me wrong, I like it a lot, but it just wasn't what I wanted......soooooo, this is what I made instead. I have been obsessed with my new sewing machine, and can finally do all the things I want to do, and this was one of them. I am happy with this, and I really love creating this. I have a bizillion other ideas, but this is good for now! Don't fret, this is a jacket that I made to go over the cover, so I can pull it off at any time to see the other art underneath.
You all know how I love that word "within", it says so much to me...I believe each one of us has the power within to be, do, or believe whatever we need. I have been greatly influenced over the past year by Ruth Rae's book, Layered, Tattered, and Stitched. The words ...my soul shall be...what lies within, are text to use from her book, and oh boy, when I saw those, I knew this was meant to be, these are my words, this is what I feel , all the time.
Found the adorable farthing coin on a vintage charm bracelet....perfect with the vintage and grungy looking button.
On another note, as I have been scattered all over the place with creativity here and there, two more pairs of earrings I just listed on etsy, you can find them here.
Thanks so much for taking a peek today , I always appreciate your visits and comments.

wonderful book cover..the layering is very cool
love the earrings.
I liked your other cover but this one is my favorite of the two. It is lovely with all the stitching, layering and vintage embellishment. Very nice! Love the quote too. Your earrings are very nice. The wire wrapping or whatever it is called, looks difficult.
Dear Sharon, your book cover is beautifull,- I love the spring feeling I get from it,the layering of different materials, so great- and the words are truly wonderfull,--
The new earrings (in the same beautifull green colors) are gorgeus, too.
Love to you dear Sharon.

Love the cover of the cover - so you have layering even before you get to layers inside. Love the idea of it. And those Eye of God earrings are breathtaking! I love them! They are an ingenious design!!!

Sharon, I simply adore your journal cover...the details, the colors, the sweet farthing coin. You know I am crazy about shabby chic, and this journal has it all. You are one creative lady, my friend. Love your latest earrings as well... so rustic and beautiful. :-)

Hi Sharon! I love both the covers - I somehow love the idea that you have such an artpiece hidden there... a secret treasure :)
Love the texture and warmth that fabric brings to a project. And your other artwork is still underneath- brilliant. I too love Ruth Rae's work- I'm taking a workshop with her this coming October and I can't wait. (but I have to since it's a lonnnnnng way away)
