JAZZED

These were influenced by a little bit of music..... ok, a lot of music, and a longing for working with metal.....it was pretty much that simple. Sometimes I have to move away from metal to become refreshed and realize just HOW MUCH I love it! The card that the earrings hang from was an old display design, but it will be changed for my next show in October, hopefully to Ester's bird that she designed for me! Just wanted to show how they look hanging. Can't wait to spend my weekend with paper and metal, and my husband....not neccessarily in that order!

POND AND GEISHA

"POND"

"POND GEISHA"

Just the slight drop in temperature has me wanting to go outside and enjoy some of nature before it's over for the year. There is a calm that I usually feel around autumn, things get quieter, and the flowers that are blooming now seem to glow at dusk. I have always loved flowers, and I think I finally have found a way to use them in my work that is really appealing to me. When I made the bracelet, which also features the cutest heart charm from Chinook Designs, it instantly reminded me of the colors and light reflections in my small pond outside my back door. Now, if only I could open the door and see the Geisha walking back there too!!

BOO!! AND BLING

copyright sharon borsavage 9/7/2009

This is a new ATC created for Nancy B.' s week 51 Crowabout challenge. I really had fun with this one in my little twisted way again, but ohhh it felt good!!

Then, I felt I needed to balance my brain out with some new jewelry, and these fabulous little glass beads that Cindy Gimbrone made, where she made a groove around the edge of the glass so it made a channel to accept wire, and she sells these wire wrapped already! How talented is she?!! When I saw these beads it was like my mouth was watering looking at them....so I had to do something pretty, but I kinda have something a little more rustic planned for the rest of them I have! I'm still debating about whether to oxidize them or not, probably will, so I didn't put them on etsy yet. Like I said...my brain goes from creepy mode to pretty mode, like when I eat chips and then have to have a candy bar, right? How about you?

ART AND ART JEWELRY

"HOLD LIFE HIGH"

"THINK OF ME"

I am so happy to have a holiday weekend, two days in a row off that I never have, since I work 3 Saturdays out of 4, so I am taking full advantage of this time! The art piece is a piece I created for Helga's weekly challenge at My ARTisitic Life. We were supposed to create a piece showing someone holding something. I really had a hard time with this, and I tried a different approach and really wanted to experiment with layering. I am calling it finished, and it is growing on me a little now, but I'm still unsure. It is what it is, and I feel I benefitted by trying some different techniques, and have realized just how hard this can be sometimes. It is making me feel more confident though to push on to do some pieces in a different style, so it was a good beginning for me.
The jewelry came a bit easier. I had this connector from Melissa at Chinook Designs for a long time now, but just finally decided what to do with it. I paired it up with some gorgeous pearls and faceted jade, and a pretty little Green Girl charm. The back of the charm says " think of me"., but you'll have to go over to etsy to see it!!

Happy Labor Day all!!!

SOLAR TIP SHOES

Today I wanted to show everyone the generousity of Marsha of TumbleFish Studio! We did a little trade, I think a very lopsided one, since I am such a rookie, and Marsha a seasoned veteran! Marsha gifted me with this beauty, very meaningful to me because it really represents confidence that she has helped to give me on this mixed media journey of mine. I gave her my Geek Love piece, which I was honored to give and that she asked! Marsha's kindness has been truly amazing and touching, and she has been more than kind......she is really a gem!! If you are not familiar with her work , please go look at it now, you will be so happy you did!! Every new post from her is a treat to the eye and mind!!
Also, there are many others in this mixed media venture, who have been so kind to me, encouraging, motivational, and inspirational, and I will try to speak of all of them at some point, because just like my jewelry family, I would love to share them with you, and their creativity!!
But today it's Marsha! Thank you TumbleFish Marsha!! I'm going now to put my shoes on!!

TWILIGHT

copyroght sharon borsavage 9-3-2009

A new ATC. I really enjoyed this, I just liked the deep color and the somber tone I felt making it, the adornment, like I was dressing myself somehow, I guess that's how I get lost in these things sometimes, but ooooh what fun it is to get lost! Happy Friday gals!
