I started making some new necklaces this weekend. I really have been loving cloth and material these days, so I wanted to incorporate that in my jewelry. I also have wanted to use some of my vintage parts and pieces, little details that are so special to me, so I came up with these, and I am pretty happy with them. They convey how I feel, and the cloth gives me that added warm feel that I like so much....comfortable. You can find these on my etsy by clicking here.
This gorgeous girl is a transfer on a beautiful handmade heart that my sweet friend Marie sent me. Isn't she precious? Marie is a very gifted and talented friend, and if you don't know her blog already, visit her here, at Lost Bird Studio. She sent me some other goodies, including a tea, which I love since I made a cup already! And that little red velvet tag is just so perfect. Thank you so much Marie!
Remember this from a few days ago, a cover for my journal this year? Well, as my mind would have it there has been a change of plans. I don't fight the inner turmoil anymore, I just go with it! Don't get me wrong, I like it a lot, but it just wasn't what I wanted......soooooo, this is what I made instead. I have been obsessed with my new sewing machine, and can finally do all the things I want to do, and this was one of them. I am happy with this, and I really love creating this. I have a bizillion other ideas, but this is good for now! Don't fret, this is a jacket that I made to go over the cover, so I can pull it off at any time to see the other art underneath.

You all know how I love that word "within", it says so much to me...I believe each one of us has the power within to be, do, or believe whatever we need. I have been greatly influenced over the past year by Ruth Rae's book, Layered, Tattered, and Stitched. The words ...my soul shall be...what lies within, are text to use from her book, and oh boy, when I saw those, I knew this was meant to be, these are my words, this is what I feel , all the time.
Found the adorable farthing coin on a vintage charm bracelet....perfect with the vintage and grungy looking button.
On another note, as I have been scattered all over the place with creativity here and there, two more pairs of earrings I just listed on etsy, you can find them here.

Hey, I finally made it back to Tea Tuesday, in an effort to fulfull my self imposed challenges of trying new things this year!

The process continues to discover and release the inner madwoman inside, as I applied those thoughts to create this cover for my journal which will be part of my art group's journal prompt....a new prompt each month. So far I got this done.....I had so much fun with a little craziness here. This month's prompt is "what color inspires us?" More on the answer to that later!
Another self indulgence this weekend was to purchase a tutorial online and make this bracelet for myself. I fell in love with the color of these pearls, and I so enjoyed the process of wrapping each one tight but loose, like an egg in their nests, carrying on my wrist each day my hopes and dreams. It makes me happy.
I wanted to spread the news of two really generous giveaways today! Patty, from Magpie's Nest, has been published in the current issue of Sew Somerset, and is offering a copy of this wonderful publication to celebrate. If you are not familiar with Patty's work go visit her now. Patty excels at every artistic medium I have ever seen, and she is truly one of the sweetest people I know.
Steph, of Purple Lotus Art is also having a wonderful giveaway! Steph lives in Singapore, and creates beautiful mixed media art. She is offering Somerset magazines as well, and collage materials of Asian influence to boot! Go visit Steph to enter and see her beautiful creations!
