WINDING DOWN

available on etsy

A little bracelet I made up recently. I feel like Autumn is winding down, although it isn't , but most of the beautiful colors are gone here.......and we are left with a lot of brown and bits of gold, and some blackness from frost hitting some very delicate things. That was the mindset behind the bracelet, and although it SOUNDS a bit depressing, and I start to feel a bit depressed in the fall, when I look at black and brown, and bits of cream and gold, I feel so warm.
I won this beautiful ATC from Terri at Pringle Hill Studio recently!! It is soooo beautiful, so richly colored and detailed, it is incredible, as well as the card it came in! Terri has been a source of constant support and friendship to me , concerning both my jewelry and art! I have met some amazing friends through this blog, and what excites me the most are the people who can relate to ALL types of art, whether they do them or not, not just their own particular niche. We can learn sooo much through the eyes and the inspiration of someone else, if we let it happen. Thank you Terri, as always, for your wonderful inspiration, encouragement and creations!! Thanks to all that visit me also....I am here because of you.
It's now 12:07 am......Happy Halloween!! Have a wicked one!!

INCHIES

I always feel like I have to do or try something new, so this was this weeks "new" thing.
They are called inches, and they are exactly that ...1" in diameter, and you have to create a tiny piece of art. Of course I thought it would be fairly easy, and was I waaaaaay wrong!! I just about had a nervous breakdown, and it took three days to accomplish this! But, I did it, and it did start to grow on me, ...kinda. It does feel good though when you are finally happy, after that struggle. And am I the only one who likes a challenge? I think the aggravation sometimes actually makes me feel ALIVE, adrenaline pumping, and the imagination is in overdrive!

PINK PASSION

I guess I'm on the pink wagon, and the back to basics train...but this is where my head has been, so I just go with it. I love pink and brown, it's so warm to me. I adore the wood heishi with the bling of the swarovski, it's my salt and chocolate combination that I always go back to. And silver is a forever love of mine. Funny how a person can be so passionate about a THING.
What THING are you passionate about? Not an idea, a THING. For me, it's silver, and beads, and coffee, and dark chocolate, and......I'll spare you the rest! Have a passionate Tuesday!

PINK DREAM

copyright sharon borsavage 10/25/2009

This is a whimsy bird I created for a recent swap. It felt good to do something whimsical, and light feeling., and I really had fun with the doodling again since I hadn't done much of that in a while! I'm hoping that this piece will start off the week with a new outlook and a fresh dream.... for everyone! So ladies, let's put on our crowns and soar!!

OLDIES BUT GOODIES

3mm turquoise stones accented with 1mm Hill Tribe faceted sterling silver

16 gauge sterling silver hand forged spiral links
available on etsy
These are two bracelets that I made quite a while ago, but never posted them. There is no particular reason I didn't , I guess I only tend to show more of the ART jewelry style, rather than the basic, what I would call cool classic jewelry, that I would like to wear everyday. So I just listed them on etsy, and I think I will show many more surprises like this in the next few weeks.

CENTERED

Believe it or not, symmetry gives me a hard time, makes my life difficult, and really scares me sometimes. But never fear, I won the battle, and prevailed with the idea I had, (even though it took 3 days!), and this was the result...pretty close to what I had envisioned for a change. I was pleasantly suprised!! Thanks for taking a peek!

A SMALL SUCCESS

I had mentioned to some friends that I had a craft show to do yesterday at my daughters college, and here are some photos. Yes, that is me, in all my glory!! The show turned out really well, much better than I had anticipated. The best part of the show for me, is that I always meet wonderful people and artisans of all mediums, and it is a great social and networking event. Now, I am VERY tired, BUT, am slowly working on some new jewelry and collage pieces....never too tired for that! I am taking my time though...it is a sloooowww Sunday.
On another really lovely note, Sanda, a sweet friend from Sanda's Hobby Blog, gave me this award, The Deborah Award. I was very touched by this, so I share that with you, and Thank you Sanda.....I am honored! The Deborah award states:"Friendship isn't about who you have known the longest, but who came and never left your side." Visit Sanda to see one of the sweetest people and some amazing mixed media work!
It was a relly great weekend overall, the show, some nice goodies in the mail, and some really nice emails that made my week!! Here's to a new week, and more sweet things!!
I would like to pass this award on to these lovely ladies, all very deserving! I share some of the same wonderful friends that Sanda does....so I picked some new ones that some of you may not know, but should!!

SMALL WORLD

This one I created just because, no challenges involved. I resisted the temptation to distress it because I really liked the brightness of it for a change. This would be my small world, birds, flowers, trees, and me, or , a representation of me! I am debating whether to put some of these pieces on etsy, originals and /or prints. I need some feedback on that if you could help. This piece is 6"x8". I have so many ideas I cannot keep up, and do not worry, I have been working on new jewelry also....I will show you something soon on that. You, my friends, are the people who carry me through the days of doubt and uncertainty in my art, and I value your friendships and what you have to say......
Thank you for visiting me, and carrying me sometimes.

EYE ON MIDNIGHT

Yes, finally, I have received my copy of Stringing! This is the necklace that was accepted in this issue. A much different style than my usual work, I am usually not so symmetrical and monotone, but when I purchased this fabulous lampwork bead fron Connie Fox's website, Jatayu, I felt it spoke volumes by itself. I just wanted to add to it's richness and mystery. I am ever so grateful to be included in this magazine with so many extremely talented artists.

IMAGINE

I created this piece for a challenge that Gale of Paper Whimsy gave us....to create a piece using the picture of the doors she had taken on one of her trips. I did have a hard time at first, but after a little imagining, it all fell into place! Check out Gale's Paper Whimsy site, for some of the most beautiful papers and images you've ever seen!

FASCINATION

And my fascination continues with women and flowers! And I feel like I am creating atc's and other pieces, that I will post more of later in the week, that I am really starting to like.

WARMTH

I had no real reason to make this necklace, except the idea and concept felt good. I wanted to use the metal pendant I had initially made as a pair of earrings, but they turned out too noisy for me! I found some beads, particularly the brown blister pearls, the rose rectangular pearls, and the cream faceted glass, that I really liked, and wanted to use them, I just liked the combination, it felt good. I always have a tough time using fabric in my pieces, but I'm always drawn to it, and figured since I had this brown ribbon, I thought it went well. It feels very brown and rosy out these days, still with a touch of lingering green, but it's a warm feeling of browness, a snuggle up with a blanket warm. My homemade balled end copper circle links have become a particular favorite of mind, and they always represent the cycle of life, beginning to end, and not always perfect. The blister pearls I use many times, they seem to say to me to "fly", but the metal keeps me anchored and I continue on. Here's to a new day, anew week, a new view.

BE GLAMOROUS!

I made some new earrings, of course they are my new favorites! I can't help but always love the combo of bling, crystal quartz, and somewhat gnarly looking turquoise stones, and oxidized silver. I really felt like I wished I could hang these earrings on the glamorous lady above, a 4x4 piece for the My ARTistic Life challenge, which had to include a 1x1 insert somewhere, sooo I thought this pretty Artchix lady looked pretty glamarous....especially surrounded by some beeeeaaauuuuutiful scrap papers I got as a little gift from ordering the special on Artchix a few weeks ago. Ohhhhh, how Helga has made me a paper junkie!
