CLARITY

Sometimes , I get in a mood that all I want to do is hammer some metal. It makes me feel good in a way that I could never explain. It makes me think of pure and simple things, like life stripped down to the bare bones, and the only things left are the things that are important, and it says to me it is a natural way to keep all the garbage and foo foo out. Glad I got that off my chest. I am not the best with words, so I hope you got the idea. Here is to a great and simple week!

AND DON'T FORGET MY GIVEAWAY!!! ENTER HERE TO SIGN UP!! You have until Wed. the 16th! And MY ETSY SALE OF 20% off is still on until Wed. as well!

SUN KISS

The past few days the weather has been absolutley wonderful, and I have taken advantage of the sunshine, let myself soak it up, and let it influence my jewelry. And so here it is, a glistening of sunshine for the ears, any time of year.

THE GUARDIAN

I spent the weekend making this necklace, and feeling very connected to my spiritaul self, and it made me feel good. I do not usually work in brass tones, but it just felt right, with the iconic image and the old world feel. I was in Michaels recently and happened upon Nunn Design's new line they are carrying called Adorned. I fell in love with a lot of the offerings, and used some of them here, including the great flower petal type element, this fantastic large and small chain, and the adorable sparkly headpins. The rest of the necklace is capped yellow jade and jasper nuggets. It's available in my shop here.
Thanks again for looking and all your wonderful comments I look forward to so much!

Remember, I am still offering 20%off in my shop, and you can still enter my giveaway by clicking here!

SOMETHING AMAZING

This spectacular necklace is posted on The Love My Art Jewelry blog. It is made of beads donated by all the artists there and will be part of an ongoing exchange. All the artists there make handmade beads and components, and that is what their mission is all about...using handmade to make handmade. I woke this morning to discover that some people thought this was mine, and I sincerely apologize, that was not my intention at all. I am just trying to spread the word of a great event taking place.
All of the incredible artists over at Love My Art Jewelry blog have come up with an incredible idea of creating and sharing, and of course jewelry making and prizes are involved! Go there now to read all the details, I promise you won't want to miss this!

SUGAR COOKIES

I guess we have holidays on the brain here already, but my daughter gave me the name for this bracelet, and I thought it was perfect. This blue is my fav color when decorating Christmas sugar cookies, and the combination of that with the soft tan is kinda sorta like a cookie, especially with the polka dots...right? Yea, I talked myself right into that!

SOMETHING DIFFERENT

I have had Kelly Rae Roberts book "Taking Flight" for about 2 years now. I love it, and look at it all the time. I pick it up, put it down, over and over, for days, then I forget about it, or subconciously put it out of my mind. I don't like to answer the questions in it, I don't like to write....never will. I like to express in the form of art. Tonight the planets aligned and I just did it., but of course had to put my own twist on it. I had to do the butterfly wings just because I love the pattern and the color. I had to add the vintage rhinestones for her necklace. And to tell you the truth, I was probably prompted to do this entire project because I just kept thinking of adding those gorgeous vintage buttons.
So I really enjoyed this and I love the transparent effect that Kelly shows in her book, I love the layering and knowing there is vintage paper underneath. Of course I am my own worst critic, and wasn't super happy with the face.....it is what it is. I also think I went to far with the markings in the background....I have a tendency of never knowing when to stop. The most important thing is that I have sparked something in me and I have many ideas for more. I hope I do them. I have been very depressed, and am trying to work through it. I am hoping this helps. This did make me happy.
I would love to know what you think. Thank you for visiting and all your comments I look forward to.
