MY NEW FAVORITE COLOR

This is my new favorite bracelet....TERRA. I really had fun making the copper caps, you all know how I love to pound metal!, and I just love the colors, which really surprised me, because I am usually not a pinkish kind of gal. These pinks spoke differently though, and combined with the rust color of the copper....ahhh, it did my heart good! Ahhh, it's the little things you know.

CONTINUED JOURNAL WORK & FLEA FINDS

As titled, I continue to work in my journal pretty consistently, without preconceived direction, and I am pretty happy with what is happening. I have more pages to show in future posts. When I need to relax at night, and watch some TV, I have been taking a smallish box of random pieces of text, images, or whatever I pull out of my ginormous collection of papers, scissors, glue, and sit down while watching TV and see what I can come up with. I may or may not add paint or whatever later. I am enjoying this process.

My favorite flea market vendor came through for me again with these gorgeous broken rosary pieces....she knows me well! I sooo love the crucifix with the thread wrapped around it....I am not sure of the significance. I thought it was loose and they wrapped the thread to secure it, but it really doesn't seem to be loose, but the character that thread has created for me far surpasses the reason, and I sit and think of the fingers that ran over that thread to make it so well worn, the abundant faith and power of the human soul. It will be hard to part with , if I do.

The hankies were a score that I wasn't planning on, but when she showed me the lot of them she got with pinned notes still on them, dates, and locations. They look like possibly they were from maybe a hankie club and exchange of sorts, an older version of our own art swaps now, and we see still that the desire of connection with people through exchanges is still so powerful. To want to exchange a personal part of yourself with others and connect is so basic through the generations.

Thanks for all your encouraging words and support. I am grateful for that and the connection you all give to me....a very beautiful one.

ONE THOUGHT FOR THE WEEKEND

TEACH PEACE. Sounds good to me. Maybe that's why I made it, as a reminder. The image in the pendant was taken from a larger collage I had made, and put in the bezel and filled with ice resin, combined with some of my favorite components of vintage crucifix and gemstones, and crystals.

MELTED AND EMBRACE

Earrings are a big part of my everyday life, so I just keep making them, and really never tire of it. I just adore gemstones, metals, and MAKING things in general, especially if they swing, sway or dangle!

The art piece is a new one I just made for a swap....it had to include lace. I thought "Embrace" seemed fitting, since that is what I am trying to do this year....embrace everything, the good and the bad, whatever.......just go with it. Actually a good friend of mine put a bug in my ear about how she is living in the moment, that where she is now is where she needs to be, so I am trying. Health issues continue, but I am rolling with it. It feels good to do some art again.

Thanks for visiting and your support....it means the world.

NEW EARRINGS AND NEW GIFTS

I finally have gotten around to making jewelry again, and it really feels good. It doesn't hurt that some of the components I use, like the fiber beads in these earrings are so so gorgeous on their own, I really don't have to do much else to them! If you have been reading my blog, you know I have fallen in love with Carolyn Saxby's fiber beads...they are wondrous, amazing, incredible little works of art, filled with texture and color goodness that words cannot describe. These beauties are so reminiscent of the ocean in every way, I am so longing to just see the ocean right now. These beads ARE the ocean. If you are not familiar with Carolyn's work, and she works in many art forms, visit her wonderful blog here and see what I am talking about.

Jewelry aside, I received some beautiful gifts today from my dear friend Dorthe! A gorgeous handmade angel she made me, my guardian angel. A pretty card and a romantic heart that are so special to me. Dorthe has given me her shoulder to lean on, which is the biggest gift of all, and many of you have done the same....so I thank you all from the bottom of my heart...and a huge thanks and hugs to Dorthe! Visit her blog here, it is enchanting!

ART WITHIN

I can't even tell you how long I have been waiting to do this journal page....like forever.
Tonight I decided it just had to be, despite cookie dough awaiting, massive cleaning to do, and lots of wrapping. But tough! I HAD TO. Now I am happy, and hope I can budget more time to do this, because it really makes me feel good.
My apologies for that awful upper right corner glow. It is really a beautiful moth, but the paper is shiny, and the glare took over, so for that part you can pretend!
Thanks for stopping by...I always love and appreciate your comments.
